Renews-Cappahayden Come Home Year 2008 This
summer, August 8 – 16, Renews-Cappahayden will be celebrating “Come Home Year”. A heartfelt invitation is extended to
everyone, home and abroad, to celebrate this 9 day event. Each day will be filled with all kinds of fun
& interesting activities for young and old alike. The committee has spent almost two years
putting this celebration together and we are getting really excited as the time
draws near.
The
committee wants to see everyone get involved in the nine days of activities,
but we also want the community to come together to spruce up our little
town. June 28th has been set
aside as Community Clean Up Day. We are
asking everyone to get out that day to clean up their own property and also the
surrounding area. Volunteers with trucks
will be picking up the garbage that has been collected. On July 12th we will be asking people
to volunteer their time to help scrape and paint the church & to beautify
the church and grotto areas.
During
the Come Home Year festivities we will also be celebrating and honoring people
from our community who have served in Afghanistan. So start collecting your yellow ribbons to
help decorate the community on that day which will be announced in the next
flyer.
The
committee is also asking families to get involved by putting your Christmas
lights back up and lighting up the community like it has never been lit
before. All lights will be turned on at
the same time during the opening ceremonies. We want this to be the best nine
days ever in the history of Renews-Cappahayden and hope that everyone will walk
away with many pleasant memories.
